Betterwood-Plantation: tiger cat in teak

Betterwood only uses wood from sustainable, certified forestry. With our Colombian Teak decking This means: areas deserted by agriculture are reforested and managed sustainably.

The University of Magdalena has now identified an extraordinary diversity of species in the mixed forest plantations on which the wood for our teak decking boards grows. The endangered ocelot, a small tiger cat, has also settled there.

An indication of the ecological value of the reforestation: ocelots depend on protective vegetation and react sensitively to the smallest changes. The greatest threat to the small cat today is the destruction of its habitat. We are therefore particularly pleased that ocelots have found a new home on our plantations!
