FSC report on Betterwood

The Forest Stewardship Council – FSC for short – is the internationally recognized certification system for wood from responsible forestry. The most important goal of the FSC is that the forests of our planet are used in a more environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically viable way. The FSC, established in 1993 following the Rio Summit on the Environment, is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization.

"Betterwood relies on personal contacts on site, service quality and transparency”

Now the FSC has a report on the special concept of Betterwood written with the title: “Use to protect – Tropical wood from sustainable forestry in Peru”. Here is reported about the sustainable forest management in Peru, from which our Cumaru and Garapa come. The report also shows what distinguishes us from conventional timber traders: "Sustainable tropical timber, as directly and completely transparently as possible".
