Climate neutral shipping
To ensure a positive ecological balance when shipping our goods, we make our entire logistics climate-neutral. We fully compensate for the CO2 emitted during transport from Latin America to our customers.
CO2 neutral and climate positive
Every gram of CO2 emitted during the transport of our wood by ship, train or truck is offset over several Reforestation projects worldwide. In this way, we ensure that the positive ecological balance that we achieve by promoting sustainable forestry is also not supported by logistics.
The way of the wood
The forest
In our sustainable primary forest management, no paths may be cut for transport. The felled tree is therefore transported out of the forest via existing paths and rivers.
The sawmill
The tree trunk is first cut into lumber in the sawmill, then kiln dried and planed to the final size. After quality control, the goods are loaded into an overseas container and transported to the port by truck.
The ship
The wood now begins its journey across the oceans on the container ship. Our Asian wood mostly passes through the Suez Canal, while our Peruvian and Bolivian wood passes through the Panama Canal.
Our warehouse
Once the ship has unloaded its goods at the port of Rotterdam, it usually goes by Rhine shipping and later by truck to our warehouse in Drolshagen near Olpe. Here the quality is checked again and the wood is packaged for transport to our customers.
