A very robust, weather-resistant, relatively easy-care material that is resistant to wood-destroying organisms. There are native hardwoods (e.g. oak, copper beech, elm, maple, walnut, larch) as well as exotic hardwoods (e.g. teak, jatoba, cumaru, garapa). There are clear technical and qualitative differences within the group of hardwoods.
