BHD (diameter at chest height)

The diameter at breast height (BHD) indicates the diameter of a standing tree at chest height. An average chest height of 1,30 m is assumed. The diameter of the trunk of a standing tree is measured at chest height with the help of a calliper. The determined value is used for a wide variety of forest-related surveys to calculate the stock and stock.
