Color stripes

Varying colorations in the heartwood, which are caused by a mostly ring-shaped color gradation that is repeated on the cross-section; While stripes of color appear on radial longitudinal sections, flakes of color form on tangential sections, e.g. B. with Zebrano (see: Drawing, glossy stripes, latewood).
