The hardest type of wood
Cumaru is one of the world's most durable woods. The high density results in a pronounced twisted grain. With twisted grain, some wood fibers grow in the opposite direction to the main growth direction. These are not completely processed by the planer and can form rough spots on the plank. After the wood has been wet for the first time, the rough spots can be easily sanded down. In South America, Cumaru has been used for bridge construction for decades due to its excellent resistance and load-bearing capacity. Cumaru is also becoming increasingly popular in Europe. With their reddish-brown pattern, Cumaru decking boards reveal their unique tropical wood aesthetic. At Betterwood you will find Cumaru decking boards of the best quality in 90 mm, 120 mm and 145 mm Broad. We also offer matching Cumaru substructure
