The manufactory was founded by Karl Güde in 1910 – at a time when more than 9.000 smaller handicraft businesses were producing cutlery and knives in Solingen.
Forged from one piece
The fact that Güde is one of the few cutlers from Solingen that still exist today is due to their consistent focus: small quantities with high quality. Not comparable to knives from automated production.
Inventor of the Güde serrated edge
With the invention of the Güde serrated edge, bread knife to produce, which should actually be called bread saws. The particularly sharp teeth saw the bread instead of crushing it.
