Please be patient.
Terrace plan is calculated.
Select decking boards
The decking board is the visible part of your wooden deck. At this point you decide on the type of wood and board width. Click on "Select here" and select a plank variant. With wider planks, a terrace can be laid with fewer joints. Narrower planks have less of a tendency to warp.
Cumaru is particularly robust and very durable. Teak is the most barefoot friendly, but not available in lengths over 3 meters. Garapa and Jatoba have a supple surface and are our widest decking boards. Their durability is slightly lower than Cumaru and Teak.
Comparison of terrace wood
What our selected decking wood has in common: ✓ high durability ✓ very good technical properties ✓ sustainable origin. Here is an overview of the special features:
Cumaru
✓ best durability
✓ particularly robust and scratch-resistant
✗ partly rough surface
✗ high power development
Tip: Floorboards should be sanded after weathering.
garapa
✓ smooth surface
✓ homogeneous, light color
✗ Ferrous substances lead to discolouration
✗ unbolted tendency to warp
Tip: Terrace cleaning removes discoloration and professional interim storage avoids warping.
jatoba
✓ smooth surface
✓ Rich color and grain
✗ unoiled tends to crack
✗ Colored ingredients wash out
Tip: Clean and oil decking after laying.
Teak
✓ best durability and dimensional stability
✓ Lowest risk of cracks and splinters
✗ relatively expensive
✗ no very long planks
Tip: Lay decking boards together.
Select terrace shape
Select the desired basic shape of your terrace here. You can choose between numerous standard shapes, upload your own sketch or simply request a quote by square meter. Once you have selected a standard shape, an image of that terrace shape will appear. If you choose "own sketch" a field will appear where you can upload files. You can enter the desired square meters of your terrace under "Rate by square meters".
Choose laying direction
At this point you decide in which direction the decking boards should run on your terrace. Laying parallel to the house means that you do not look into the joints when stepping onto the terrace. Laying parallel to the shorter side means that you can often reach the distance with one plank and do not have to lay several planks one after the other. From a technical point of view, since our decking boards are not ribbed, you can lay them in either direction.
Select substructure
Here you can choose which substructure we should plan your terrace with. Every terrace needs a substructure onto which floorboards can be screwed.
If you select "Our recommendation", we will offer you what we believe to be the best substructure to match your particular decking board. A wooden substructure has the advantage that it harmonises very well with wooden terrace boards and there are fewer tensions than with an aluminum construction. Aluminum has the advantage that the profiles are very straight and there is no risk of warping. You should only select "do not offer substructure" if you already have a substructure that you can use for your new wooden terrace.
select screw connection
Here you decide whether the screw connection of the decking should be visible or hidden. In addition to the appearance, the hidden screw connection has the advantage that the decking board can be worked across the width without causing tension. In addition, the plank remains unharmed on the upper side, which reduces the risk of splinters. In addition, the plank is also ventilated from the underside, as the concealed fastening system creates a gap between the plank and the substructure.
The visible screw connection has the advantage that you can easily replace planks after assembly. In addition, this type of attachment is cheaper and can be installed faster than a concealed attachment.
decking oil
Here you decide whether we should also offer you the right patio oil. The decking oil reduces the formation of surface cracks. We therefore recommend treating a wooden terrace with the oil at least once after laying it. An exception is teak, as teak has the unique property of hardly cracking even when not oiled.
If you want to keep your wood color for as long as possible, you should also use decking oil. However, oiling the floorboards only slows down your natural graying process and cannot stop it completely. It is therefore necessary to oil the terrace at least twice a year and to clean it if necessary in order to keep the wood color permanent.
Choose sides of the veneer
Select below the sides of the terrace to be faced. Click on the relevant page and tick it. A facing is attached to the side of the terrace edge so that the substructure is covered.
Enter the length of the veneer
Enter the total length of the cladding of your terrace in centimetres. A facing is attached to the side of the terrace edge so that the substructure is covered.
Choose material for facing
Here you can decide whether you want the same wood as your decking or whether you prefer perforated aluminum sheeting. A cover made of wood is a bit more subtle, but a cover made of aluminum perforated sheeting offers better ventilation of the wooden terrace.
infatuation
A facing is attached to the side of the terrace edge and prevents the substructure from being seen when looking at the terrace from the side. However, a facing can also impede the underside ventilation of the terrace. If you wish to plan the facing, tick the box by clicking on "Facing". You then have the option of telling us the side that is to be veneered and you can specify the material of the veneer.
Enter assembly height
Here you can enter the construction height of your terrace in centimeters (distance between the foundation and the upper edge of the terrace board). A flat construction height is 5 cm, a normal construction is 8 cm, with pedestals and, if necessary, counter battens, up to 30 cm can be achieved and posts are required above that. Depending on the desired construction height, we offer you the right material and the best construction method.
assembly height
The distance between the foundation and the upper edge of the decking board is called the construction height. Depending on the type of plank, screwing and substructure, the construction height of a terrace is usually between 7cm and 8cm. If you tick the construction height box, you have the option of specifying special construction heights from 4 cm to 400 cm. We will then supplement your offer with the appropriate material.
choose background
A terrace with a construction height of more than 40 cm is usually elevated with posts. In order to be able to anchor these posts securely in the ground, post supports are used. The substrate defines which post bases are the right ones for your project.
Enter the dimensions of the stairs
Here you can enter the dimensions of a step of your staircase and tell us the desired number of steps. This automatically calculates the width, depth and height of your stairs.
Front facing of the steps
A front facing of the stairs - also called risers - prevents you from seeing the substructure under the step. Here you can set whether we should offer the material for it or not.
Choose the base of the stairs
The floorboards of the steps must be screwed onto a support. Here you can choose to what extent we should plan this substructure for you. If you want to cover an existing staircase with wooden floorboards, select "Only overlay for steps". If you want to build a new staircase, select "complete substructure". If you want to use metal or another material for the substructure, select "without substructure".
Side facing of the stairs
A side paneling of the stairs is attached to the side of the stairs over the entire height of the stairs. This prevents the substructure of the stairs from being visible from the side. Here you can choose whether we should offer you side facing for one side, for both sides or no side facing.
Planning more stairs?
If you want us to plan another staircase for you, please select "Yes". Otherwise, click on "continue" below to get to the last step of your terrace planning.
planning stairs
If you wish, we can also plan a staircase or several staircases for your wooden terrace. The stairs are planned from decking boards with the appropriate substructure. Optionally, you can also set a front and side panel and define the appropriate structure. To activate the planning, please click on "Stairs" to set a tick there.
